A Swedish company says it has made the world's only all-electric, long-range speedboats. The carbon fiber Candela C-7 mimics airplanes to fly above the water, according to the company. The first batch arrived in New York Wednesday — and you'll be able to test them out soon. See more stories on Insider's business page.

It uses hydrofoils, combined with computers and sensors, to lift it over the surface of the water so that it almost looks like it's flying.

This reduces water friction by 80%, and Candela says this makes it "completely silent" as it glides over the water.
